PWW 3 Round Mock Draft – Matt Froehlich

1.30: Grant Delpit – Safety – LSU

Why would Gutekunst draft a safety at 30, when the front office addressed the position aggressively last off season? The Packers defense is in need of another dynamic player who can play in the box and cover centerfield. Giving Pettine another player to plug into the nickel and dime formations, and the talent of Savage and Amos’ versatility, could catapult the Green Bay defense to one of the most feared groups in the league. Grant Delpit’s caliber of football IQ and his natural ball hawking instinct, would make him a fan favorite immediately.

ON THE BOARD: Antoine Winfield Jr. – Safety – Minnesota, Austin Jackson – OT – USC, AJ Epenesa – Edge – Iowa

2.62: Tee Higgins – WR – Clemson

Jimmy Graham and Geronimo Allison are out. Devin Funchess was brought in to compete as the #2 WR. However, the Packers still need another game changer on offense. Rodgers, Jones and Adams are fantastic, but adding a fourth explosive weapon is a must in the 2020 NFL Draft for Green Bay. Higgins’ height, speed and athleticism make him the slam dunk pick for the
Packers in the second round. Plenty of receivers will be available at 62. My hope is Brian and Matt find first round WR talent, in the second or third round.

ON THE BOARD: Michael Pittman – WR – USC, Laviska Shenault – WR – Colorado, Raekwon Davis – DT – Alabama, Justin Madubuike – DT – Texas A&M

Round 3, Pick 94: Akeem Davis-Gaither – LB – Appalachian State

“Hey Mike, it’s Matt Froehlich, co-owner of the Green Bay Packers. Yeah, I think it would be incredible to add another swiss army knife to your defense.” The above conversation is pretty much how I would envision a phone call between myself and defensive coordinator Mike Pettine going if he were to inquire about pick 94. Davis-Gaither has a nose for the ball and is another versatile player for the Green Bay defense. The senior from Appalachian State has the ability to contribute Day 1 for the green and gold.

ON THE BOARD: Saahdiq Charles – OT – LSU, Bryce Hopkins – TE – Purdue,
Logan Wilson – LB – Wyoming
