PWW 3 Round Mock Draft – Ryan Bowman

1.30: Kenneth Murray – ILB – Oklahoma
The Packers haven’t drafted an Inside Linebacker in the first round since 2006 with the selection of AJ Hawk. Coincidentally, the position has been manned with average talent for what seems like forever. Well folks, this year Brian Gutekunst changes all that with the selection of Kenneth Murray, an explosive, physical prospect who can actually be the sideline to sideline presence the Packers have sorrowfully lacked in the middle of the defense. It was really difficult not to take a WR here, but with multiple options still on the board I rolled the dice hoping someone would fall to me at 62.
ON THE BOARD: Brandon Aiyuk – WR – ASU, Jalen Reagor – WR – TCU, Denzel Mims – WR – Baylor, Zach Baun – LB – Wisconsin.
2.62: Michael Pittman Jr. – WR – USC
Patience was indeed a virtue, as my #7 ranked WR in this incredibly deep class falls to 62. Pittman Jr. is a big, tough, physical receiver that fits the mold of the Packers established thresholds. He is also an outstanding run blocker for a WR, something likely to catch Matt LaFleur’s eye. Getting this talented of a pass catcher in the late 2nd round would be Brian Gutekunst’s tribute to former Packers GM Ted Thompson, and his ability to find top tier receivers on day 2.
ON THE BOARD: KJ Hamler – WR – Penn State, Clyde Edwards-Helaire – RB – LSU, Jeremy Chinn – Saftey – Souther Illinois.
3.94: Thaddeus Moss – TE – LSU
Moss is not going to burn down the seam creating mismatches in coverage, that’s what Jace Sternberger is for. What he will do is be an absolute beast as a run blocker, in addition to having excellent hands and instincts as a patch catcher. Also, this would really piss off Vikings fans, and I’m here for it.
ON THE BOARD: Matthew Peart – OT – UCONN, Ben Bartch – OT – St. Johns, Bryce Hopkins – TE – Purdue
